This puts you at increased risk of many health problems, including:
Anxiety
Depression
Digestive problems
Headaches
Muscle tension and pain
Heart disease, heart attack, high blood pressure and stroke
Sleep problems
Weight gain
Memory and concentration impairment
This is why it is so important to learn healthy coping skills and alleviate stressors as you can.
3 Ways to Stress Less
- Hold a Mindset of Gratitude
- Use Aromatherapy
- Delegate Tasks
A mindset of gratitude quite literally creates a whole new you! Gratitude can boost neurotransmitter serotonin and activate the brain stem to produce dopamine. Dopamine is our brain's pleasure chemical. The more we think positive, grateful thoughts, the healthier and happier we feel.
Aromatherapy is as close to a magic pill as you can get! Aromatherapy is commonly used to treat a wide variety of mental and physical problems from stress and anxiety, to headaches and digestive issues. Essential oils trigger messages that get sent to your brain's limbic system, which controls your emotions, memory and how you learn.
Delegating tasks creates a more freeing and focused lifestyle! Effective delegating doesn't just prevent stress and burnout, but it also enhances capacity to accomplish more. When you delegate work thoughtfully, you effectively remove tasks that take from your bandwidth which empowers you to focus on your skill sets and work on things that gives you life.

Bonus Tips
A mindset of gratitude quite literally creates a whole new you!
Romans 12:2 is just one of the many scriptures that directs us to renew our minds and explains that in doing so we will be transformed. While you will hear many experts direct you to begin keeping a gratitude journal, and rightfully so, I know that you're already pushed to your limit and feeling stress. Adding one more thing, even when you know it's good for you can feel like you're being pushed over the top.
So instead of trying to jump all in on one more task, try this instead.
"I am thankful for my God."
"I am thankful for purpose."
"I am thankful for my family."
"I am thankful for my job."
"I am thankful for my home."
You can swap any of those that you want, but make them meaningful. Make at least 3 of them things that you find yourself stressing over or overwhelmed by.
Write it down on something, take a picture of it and set that picture as your phones background and screen saver. Tape it up in a place that you often experience the stress or overwhelm.
